These are pretty good: Bliss Balls from Kokako café in Parnell. They come in packs of two, the perfect size for a mid-afternoon snack, and are packaged in compostable film and recyclable cardboard. They’re more complex than Lärabars but fit into the same basic food group: gluten-free snacks based on mushed-up dried fruit, nuts and seeds. Besides the basics, these bliss balls contain cocoa (fairtrade, organic), maple syrup & vanilla essence, so there are a few flavours included, but they work well together. They’re labelled vegetarian and “certified delicious”.
Full disclosure: Kokako gave me a pack of Bliss Balls for free (as pictured above) because they’re nice people, but I’ve also bought & enjoyed them subsequently.
