On Sunday, I broke with tradition and had brunch at a different café! Shaky Isles in Kingsland marks vegan things separately on its menu. There’s actually just the one thing labelled VGN, but the fact it’s labelled as such is good stuff.
The Good Stuff Bruschetta (VGN) is a heap of mushrooms, tomato, spinach and hummus on toasted sourdough. It was really perfectly executed: good proportions, not over- or under-done mushrooms, flavoursome ingredients. Definitely worth walking to Kingsland for.
As the name suggests, Shaky Isles is also good at making strong coffee. I originally found out about their vegan brunch option from Katie’s blog, where she recommends the Whittakers Mocha. I stuck with my regular soy flat white, and wasn’t disappointed.
Other good things: free wifi & a beautiful space with big art on the walls. Also, good company.
