This was also from a shopping trip to Harvest Wholefoods last weekend: Pic’s Really Good Peanut Butter. I’d tried it at La Cigale French Market the day before, and loved its freshly roasted flavour and semi-chunky texture.
The jar I bought contains only peanuts; there’s also a salted variety which has just the two ingredients. Pic is passionate about real peanut butter, to the point of declaring a Peanut Butter Amnesty which allowed new converts to trade in their jars of horrible supermarket spread for the real stuff. He’s won foodie acclaim for his product, winning a Cuisine Magazine Artisan Award.
Another thing to know: under the label of each jar is a poem by peanut butter lover Bill Smith.
