Vegan cooking demonstration this week

I’m way behind in writing here, and so much has been going on. I missed out on telling you about Vinyl’s vegan-optional hotdog eating competition last month, but here’s another event coming up this week that you might want to check out.

The Vegan Society is organising a vegan cooking demonstration by Robert Jacobs, the vegetarian contestant on New Zealand’s last season of Masterchef.

The proposed menu sounds pretty amazing: harissa tempeh briouats with lemon & garlic white bean aioli, for instance.

Robert’s demonstration will be held at Wise Cicada in Newmarket. Entry is $20, and proceeds benefit the Christchurch Vegetarian Centre, which was badly damaged in the February earthquake. The ticket includes samples of the dishes prepared.
