As you might know, when I’m not eating vegan food and writing about it, I work for the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind. Later this month, I’ll be combining my love for delicious vegan cupcakes with my desire to make New Zealand a better place for blind and partially sighted people when I bake a difference for Blind Week.
Blind Week aims to raise funds that will help the RNZFB to continue providing essential blindness services to its members. This year, Blind Week includes Bake a Difference, a nationwide event that will involve New Zealanders baking delicious goodies to sell to friends, family, workmates or others for a gold coin donation. Bake a Difference will run through Blind Week from Tuesday 25 to Monday 31 October.
I’ll be supporting Blind Week through this blog: combining vegan baking, fundraising and Vegan MoFo into one crazy week-long project. Stay tuned for more details, and please send me links to your favourite vegan baking recipes.
If you’d like to bake your own difference, you can register your event on the Bake a Difference website, or by calling 0800 120 BLIND.
